Behind The Library
Christopher Brown, both a cellist and a Black Metal musician, brings raw intensity to Dread Cello. Known for his bold, head-on playing style, he channels the emotional depth of Black Metal through his cello. His ability to push the instrument beyond its limits while keeping its dark, brooding character is what sets this library apart.
We set out to create a cello library that captures the raw, unapologetic energy of Christopher Brown’s playing. This isn’t your typical cello library—it’s bold, uncompromising, and breaks the rules with its fierce intensity.
Christopher’s dual role as a cellist and Black Metal musician brings bold articulations that blend aggression with deep emotion, giving this library a dark, distinctive edge.
With an intuitive interface, Dread Cello makes it easy to tap into its aggressive, cinematic power, perfect for pushing your compositions into darker territory.
Concept
We spent two days at our Inlet studio in LA recording Christopher Brown’s intense playing. Using multiple mics, we captured the raw, rosin-rich tones of his mahogany cello, bringing out the natural darkness and depth that’s unmistakable in every note.
