FORMANTIC is sung by Inlet Audio co-founder Kirsten Evans. She built each performance from vocal techniques she knew instinctively, so she could focus fully on putting emotion into the performance rather than thinking about technique.

Why we made it.

The emotion starts in the performance

The aim was to create sounds where sadness and beauty could coexist, with enough movement inside each note to keep sustained parts from feeling static. Each performance can sit exposed at the centre of a track or blend into a larger texture, so you can place that humanity wherever your music needs it.

Recorded across two days at Altamira Sound in Los Angeles with engineer James Riotto, the strongest material was shaped into the five performances that became FORMANTIC.
