fierce
+ unapologetic

what do the most fierce & unapologetic playing techniques on a cello sound like when recorded by a black metal cellist?

we spent two full days with christopher brown, known for his work in black metal, who pushes this cello library to new extremes with aggressive, intensely expressive performances.

we edited and manipulated these dark sounds, experimented with "how can we make this as bold as possible", and transformed them into playable cinematic textures, perfect for agressive, cinematic, dark music genres.

spend time on your music,
not technology.

we believe less is more when it comes to our interfaces,
making them simple and intuitive.

spend less time learning,
more time making music.

we spent two days in los angeles, recording christopher's intense playing.

we used multiple mic positions, and captured the raw, rosin-rich sound of his mahogany cello, bringing out the natural darkness and depth of his instrument.

chris, both a cellist and a black metal musician, brings raw intensity to ANGST (+DREAD).

he is known for his bold, head-on playing style, and channels the emotional depth of black metal through his cello.

his ability to push the instrument beyond its limits, while keeping its dark, brooding character, is what made us want to work with him and create a library.
