the perfect companion to DAWN, DAWN SPARKS includes carefully recorded trill textures, focussing on the organic breathiness and imperfections of the bass clarinet, while allowing it to be used in less traditional ways.
we worked with chicago-based composer and clarinetist brandon c. stanley, who regularly uses this bass clarinet in his own compositional work and his recordings for award-winning composers.
brandon plays with a natural instinct, shaping his own music while understanding how to bring other composers' ideas to life.

brandon spent several weeks recording these sounds in his chicago studio, carefully playing, capturing, and refining each one.
true to his style, he used his go-to microphone setup and gear to perfectly capture the bass clarinet’s distinct character, using his studio space he knows inside and out.
we wanted to create a bass clarinet library that draws you in with its delicate, immersive quality - preserving the bass clarinet's subtle, organic character.
we found that we were missing a bass clarinet library that explores trills in a slightly different way, a way that thinks of them more like an "atmosphere maker", than "i need a trill."
