RESONANT + TRANSFORMED
this freebie was bult from recordings captured for REBUILT UPRIGHT - then pushed much further through processing and manipulation.
the result feels less like a traditional piano and more like a blooming, resonant instrument with shifting harmonics and long reflections.
it’s immersive, unstable, and built more around atmosphere and emotion than realism.
REFLECTIVE + BLOOMING
some notes feel almost bell-like or gong-like, with overtones slowly interacting and opening up over time.
the articulation works especially well for sparse writing, reflective harmony, and slower cinematic movement - adding depth and resonance without becoming too dense.
even after all the manipulation, the original piano still sits underneath it, giving the sound warmth and unpredictability.

created from recordings captured during the REBUILT UPRIGHT sessions at altamira sound in los angeles.
while editing the library, certain resonances and sustained notes revealed textures that felt too interesting to leave unused - so we reshaped them into a separate articulation focused entirely on resonance, sustain, and movement.
WHY
we wanted to explore a more extreme side of the piano - something less tied to realism and more focused on atmosphere and emotional space.
instead of behaving like a conventional upright, this articulation slowly blooms and expands through resonance, texture, and shifting overtones.
